Using advanced monitoring and data collection techniques along with proprietary software, Practical Energy Solutions generates a "Building Energy Use Report Card" which provides a detailed assessment of your building's current performance from an energy efficiency standpoint. This report card provides a performance rating based on standard benchmarks such as EPA ENERGY STAR ratings, and will tell you how your building compares to similarly used facilities.

We use this information to assist you in matching up your energy usage to your actual building use, to optimize the performance of all of your building systems.

Our Company Principal

Paul D. Spiegel, P.E., President, has been involved in building and facility evaluations for over 20 years. He has provided services for school districts, real estate developers, municipalities, private and public universities, and other major facility owners. Facilities for which he was a project manager or principal during design and/or construction phases include:

He holds a professional engineer's license in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and is an Assistant Professor (Adjunct) in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Temple University's main campus in Philadelphia. He is a certified infrared thermographer (Level 1), a Certified Building Official in Pennsylvania, and obtained his LEED-EB Accreditation from the U.S. Green Building Council in June of 2007, to assist facility owners in getting their existing buildings certified as "Green Buildings". He joined Practical Energy Solutions in March of 2006.

Other affiliations include service as the Vice Chairman of the West Goshen Township Planning Commission, and membership in the Union of Concerned Scientists and the Sierra Club.
